savings = $3.97

I just had to order another valance for Roxelle's nursery because the one that came with her bed set is just inches too short (BOO!) However, I saved the $3.97 in shipping by using Wal Mart's "site to store" option!

savings = $22.03

I shopped for groceries at Grocery Outlet and saved $20.03 I spent a total of $32.94(according to my receipt) and I got gas at AM/PM for $1.89 and it's $2.01 everywhere else!! (I got 14.745 gallons). Plus, when I shop at Winco with my reuseable grocery bags (which I am completely in love with because I can stuff 'em super full and carry the handles on my shoulder), I get $0.06 back for every reusable bag I use! I had 6. It's only $0.36 back, but hey, (in the words of the late Grandpa Woolsey) "nobody ever got rich by stepping over the pennies to pick up the dollars". I love saving money!

savings = $312.75 ~ spent = $19.53

I am so pleased with my first deal post!!!! I got ALL of the items in these pictures and I only spent about $19.50 out of my pocket!!!!!!!

Mariah and Brinlee's birthdays are around the corner and so the after Christmas sales are the best time to start shopping for it. Since they got beds for Christmas from Santa, I decided to get them sheets and comforters. (Right now they sleep on a waterproof mattress pad with an old quilt for covers).

The bed in a bag set was originally $139.99 at JC Penney. (It's for Mariah, I'll get Brinlee's later) It was on sale for $59.99. The valance orig. price was $34.99 on sale for $17.49. The sheets orig. for $30, I paid $14.99. I got them all for "free" because I had so many credits and gift cards to Penney's that we received as gifts for various occassions.

original cost = $204.98
total spent = $0.00 ($92.47 spent from credit not originally from our money)
total saved= $204.98

The princess game was originally $19.84 on sale for $9.98. I used a credit that was not from our original money to pay for it. 2 of the Barbie sets at Toys R Us were originally $25.99. I used one of my R Us Rewards cards in the amount of $15 on one, plus used more of the credit that was not from our original money to cover the other $10.99. I used another R Us rewards card in the amount of $20 on the other one and used the last $0.43 of the credit and spent $5.56 cash on the rest.

original cost = $71.82
total spent = $5.56 (no tax)
total saved = $66.26

While I was the mall making a return to Gap, they wouldn't validate my parking unless I spent money, so I went in search of something cheap that I could get to have instead of throwing $2 away on parking. I found my favorite lotion scent (Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin) at Bath and Body Works on 75% off (the very last piece of the seasonal scent left). It was $2.37!!!!!

original cost = $9.50
total spent = $2.37 (no tax)(I was glad I didn't have to pay for parking =D)
total saved = $7.13

I went to Target in search of a cheap Hello Kitty rug to match the bed in a bag that I got for Mariah. She really wants a Hello Kitty room and since I have this aversion to characters on things, I will give in to a couple accessories. I didn't get a rug, but they still have quite a bit (2.5 aisles) of their Christmas toy clearance left (the Van Mall Target, FYI). I got 2 HSM doll sets marked down to $4-$5 dollars from $22.99.

original cost = $45.98
total spent = $11.60 (incl. tax)
total saved = $34.38

another one....

As if I don't already have enough blogs to keep track of....here's another. I am really excited about this! I have an admitted obsession. I can't walk away from a good deal. I have such a hard time walking away, in fact, that most of the time I end up returning the items I bought because I can't see right then and there when the deal is staring me in the face that neither do I need the item nor can afford the item, no matter how cheap it might be!
My friend gave me this idea...actually, she got me seeing how much I really do save on a day to day basis. I thinks it's an AWESOME idea to create a place that I can share good deals and ideas with my friends.
I'm not going to write a book or anything, I just want to see how much I can save.......

p.s. I won't consider gift cards given to me by my husband or children "savings" as they come from our original money.
